Japanese Collagen: How to Choose and Order to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan

24 October 2026 · 7 min read

Powder, drink, jelly or tablets: how Japanese collagen from Meiji, Shiseido, DHC, Dear-Natura and others differs, how much collagen is in a serving, whether it is fish or pork, and how to order it from Tokyo to Almaty, Astana or Bishkek under the EAEU €200 threshold.

People in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan usually search for Japanese collagen by brand: Meiji, Shiseido, DHC. Before ordering, though, it is worth looking past the brand at the format: powder, drink, jelly and tablets differ a lot in collagen per serving, in convenience and in parcel weight. This guide compares the formats using real products from our catalog and explains how to order them from Tokyo to Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Bishkek or Osh.

The collagen in these products is a food supplement, not a medicine. It is not intended to treat or prevent any disease. If you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have allergies, talk to your doctor before you start.

The formats of Japanese collagen

Powder. The most flexible format: you stir it into coffee, tea, soup or yogurt. Meiji and Shiseido powders contain 5,000 mg of collagen per serving, and a pack lasts about a month or longer.

Drink. Small 50 ml bottles, one a day. Convenient, nothing to measure, but drinks weigh more than powder, and shipping cost depends on parcel weight.

Jelly sticks. Single-serve sachets you can eat without water. Jelly should not be frozen or heated, and DHC notes it tastes better chilled.

Tablets. A compact format, but you need several tablets a day for a meaningful amount of collagen. On the plus side, tablets often combine collagen with vitamins, as Dear-Natura does.

We go through the formats in detail in Japanese collagen: powder, drink, tablets, and compare three brands in Shiseido vs DHC vs Orihiro collagen.

Fish or pork: check the ingredients

For many buyers in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan the source of collagen matters. Japanese supplements use both fish and pork collagen, and the source is usually stated in the ingredients. Among the products below, the ingredient lists show fish collagen for Meiji, Shiseido and Earth and pork for Perfect Asta and Dear-Natura, while DHC simply says "collagen peptide". Almost all of them contain gelatin, and some also list shrimp, crab or salmon as allergens. The product pages for these items have no information about halal certification, so go by the translated ingredient list on each page.

Powders

  • Meiji Amino Collagen, 196 g: according to the maker, a 7 g serving contains 5,000 mg of fish collagen, vitamin C, arginine and glucosamine. The powder has almost no taste or smell and dissolves in hot and cold drinks; a pack lasts about 28 days.
  • Shiseido The Collagen Powder: 5,000 mg of low-molecular fish collagen per 6 g serving, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and amla, cranberry and cherry blossom extracts. The 126 g pack lasts about a month.
  • Perfect Asta Collagen Powder, 447 g: a large pack for about 60 days at a 7.4 g serving. Contains pork collagen peptides, hyaluronic acid, coenzyme Q10 and B vitamins.

Jelly

  • DHC Collagen Jelly EX: 3,000 mg of collagen peptides per stick plus hyaluronic acid, elastin and ceramides; mango flavour, 15 sticks of 15 g, one a day. Contains aspartame, which matters for people with phenylketonuria.
  • Earth Collagen C Jelly, acai flavour, 31 sticks: 2,500 mg of fish collagen per 10 g stick, vitamin C, glucosamine and proteoglycan, caffeine-free. Allergens: gelatin and salmon.

Drinks

  • DHC Collagen Beauty Drink 12000 EX: according to the maker, 12,000 mg of collagen in a 50 ml bottle, plus B vitamins, vitamin C and ceramides. 10 bottles per pack, one a day. Lists shrimp and crab as allergens.
  • Shiseido The Collagen Drink, 10 x 50 ml: low-molecular fish collagen, hyaluronic acid, ceramides and vitamin C; caffeine-free and fat-free, best drunk chilled.

Tablets

  • Dear-Natura Low-Molecular Collagen, 240 tablets: the 8-tablet daily serving contains 2,000 mg of pork collagen peptide and 80 mg of vitamin C, plus hyaluronic acid, coenzyme Q10 and elastin. A pack lasts 30 days. The maker does not recommend it for pregnant or breastfeeding women or for children.

All collagen products are in the Collagen & Beauty section, and by brand on the pages for Meiji, Shiseido The Collagen, DHC and Dear-Natura.

How to take it: what the makers say

  • Powders. Meiji suggests dissolving about 7 g (roughly one scoop) in any drink or dish, including hot drinks. Shiseido recommends about 6 g once a day and closing the pack tightly after opening.
  • Drinks. Shake the bottle and drink it right after opening; it tastes better chilled.
  • Jelly. Eat the stick right after opening. DHC warns that sucking the jelly straight from the sachet in one go can make you choke and advises chewing it thoroughly.
  • Tablets. Dear-Natura: 8 tablets a day with water, without exceeding the daily amount.

In every case the makers ask you to stick to the daily serving and check the ingredients for allergens.

How to choose

  • You want flexibility: Meiji or Shiseido powder goes into any drink or dish.
  • You want a large supply: Perfect Asta 447 g for about 60 days.
  • You do not want to measure anything: DHC or Earth jelly.
  • You want the most in a single serving: the DHC 12000 EX drink.
  • You do not eat pork: choose products with fish collagen in the ingredients.

How to order to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan

  1. Add products to the cart and choose your country. The cart splits the order into parcels within the weight Japan Post accepts for your country and shows the minimum order (currently ¥8,000 in products, without shipping).
  2. Sign in or create an account and enter your address with its six-digit postal code.
  3. Pay by card via Stripe. You are charged in Japanese yen; the currency switcher in the header shows prices in tenge (KZT) or som (KGS).
  4. Once the parcel ships, a tracking number appears in your account.

Parcels to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan go by Japan Post airmail. Preparing the order usually takes 3-5 business days for warehouse items and 7-10 for items sourced to order, and transit is 5-21 days by Japan Post's general estimate. Times are not guaranteed.

Duties: the common EAEU threshold

Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are both EAEU members, so the rules are the same: a parcel with goods up to €200 and weighing up to 31 kg enters with no charges. Above the threshold, from 1 July 2026 there is 5% duty on the full value (at least €1 per kg) plus VAT: 16% in Kazakhstan, the national rate in Kyrgyzstan. The recipient pays, and customs set the final amount. More on the shipping to Kazakhstan and shipping to Kyrgyzstan pages.

Opened supplements cannot be returned for hygiene reasons; unopened items in their sealed factory packaging can be returned within 14 days of delivery after emailing info@eurasiajp.com.

Frequently asked questions

Which Japanese collagen is better: powder or drink? It comes down to convenience. Meiji and Shiseido powders contain 5,000 mg of collagen per serving and a pack lasts about a month. The DHC 12000 EX drink has more collagen per serving, but each bottle should be drunk right after opening, and a parcel of drinks is heavier.

How do I tell fish collagen from pork? Check the ingredients on the product page: they say, for example, "fish collagen peptide" or "pork collagen peptide". If it just says "collagen peptide", the pack does not specify the source.

Can I take collagen with other supplements? Many collagen products already contain vitamin C, hyaluronic acid or B vitamins. Compare the ingredient lists to avoid doubling up, and talk to your doctor if you take medication.

Will there be duty on collagen? Parcels to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan follow the EAEU threshold of €200 and 31 kg per parcel. Above it there is 5% duty (at least €1 per kg) plus VAT, and customs set the final amount.
