Shipping Terms
How we process, pack and dispatch orders from Tokyo, and what you should know before we ship.
Last updated: 15 September 2026
1. When work on your order starts
An order is taken into processing once payment is received. The first 48 hours after payment are the window in which the order can still be cancelled (see Returns & Claims). After 48 hours we purchase the goods from manufacturers and distributors and start packing; from that point cancellation is no longer possible.
2. Dispatch time
Items from our warehouse in Tokyo are usually dispatched within 3-5 business days of payment. Items sourced to order usually ship within 7-10 business days. These are estimates: during Japanese holiday periods (late December to early January, Golden Week in May, Obon in August) and when a supplier is late, dispatch can take longer. If the delay exceeds 14 business days we will let you know and offer to wait or to cancel with a full refund.
3. Packing and checking
Before dispatch every order is checked for contents and quantities and packed in a cardboard box with protective material. Fragile items (glass, liquids) are wrapped additionally. Products are shipped in the manufacturer's original packaging.
4. Carriers, shipping cost and tracking
Parcels are sent from Tokyo via Japan Post (EMS) or another carrier selected when shipping is calculated. The shipping cost is calculated at checkout from the parcel weight and the destination country and includes packing and handling; it is shown before payment. Once the parcel is handed to the carrier you receive an email with the tracking number; it is also shown in your account. Track the parcel on the carrier's website.
5. One parcel and split orders
We ship orders of any weight: even a single small item ships as its own light parcel, and shipping is charged by the actual weight. If an order is too heavy for one parcel under Japan Post rules for your country, we split it into several parcels; the shipping cost for all parcels is calculated at checkout. Separately paid orders cannot be combined into one parcel.
6. What we do not ship
Japan Post international mail and air carriers do not accept a number of goods, so we do not ship them to any country: • aerosols, flammable liquids (including alcohol-based perfumes and nail polish), oxidisers and other dangerous goods; • loose lithium batteries and power banks; a device with a built-in battery is shipped only to countries where Japan Post allows it, no more than two devices per parcel; • e-cigarettes and heated tobacco devices; • plants, seeds, live organisms and articles made from species protected by CITES. Some cosmetics and household chemicals (sunscreens, liquid and cream deodorants, foundations, detergents) are accepted by the post only with a composition document from the manufacturer. If the manufacturer does not provide one, we cannot ship the item. Knives and other bladed items are shipped only to countries where Japan Post rules allow it, securely packed with the blade covered. Every country also has its own list of goods prohibited from import: the post will accept such a parcel, but customs in the destination country will stop it. Check your country's rules before ordering; indicative duty thresholds by country are on the Delivery Terms page. If it turns out after payment that an item cannot be sent to your country, we cancel that item and refund its price in full.
7. Parcel insurance
Every parcel is insured for the full value of the goods; the insurance is included in the shipping cost, there is no extra charge. If a parcel is lost or damaged in transit, we file a claim with Japan Post and, once the carrier confirms it, refund the value of the affected goods or send a replacement (see Returns & Claims).
8. Address and customs declaration
Provide the full address in Latin letters, the postal code and the recipient's phone number; the carrier uses it at delivery. The address cannot be changed after dispatch; a parcel returned because of an address error is re-sent at the buyer's expense. The customs declaration states the actual contents and value of the goods; we do not declare a lower value on request.
