Delivery Terms
Transit times, tracking, customs duties and what happens if a parcel cannot be delivered.
Last updated: 15 September 2026
1. Delivery time
After dispatch, an EMS parcel usually arrives within 5-14 days depending on the country; other carriers have their own transit times. Delivery times are not guaranteed: delays at customs, with the carrier, due to weather or holidays are outside our control and are not grounds for cancellation or compensation.
2. Tracking
The parcel status is updated on the carrier's website by tracking number. If the status does not change for more than 10 days, or the parcel is marked as delivered but you have not received it, contact us, and we will open an inquiry with the carrier. An international trace takes from 2 weeks.
3. Customs, duties and taxes
The recipient is the importer. Customs duties, VAT, excise and carrier customs-handling fees, where they apply in the destination country, are paid by the recipient on delivery. These amounts are not included in the product price or shipping cost and are not refunded by us. Check your country's import rules before ordering: some goods (supplements, medicinal ingredients, products of animal origin) may be restricted or prohibited. Exception for the United States: since 2025 parcels to the US must arrive with duty prepaid (DDP). We calculate the US import duty and the customs clearance fee at checkout and include them in your payment; you pay nothing on delivery. Indicative duty-free thresholds and rates by country are listed in the table further down this page.
4. Refused duties, non-delivery and returned parcels
If the recipient refuses to pay duties, does not collect the parcel within the holding period (usually 7-15 days), or provided an incorrect address, the parcel is returned to Japan or destroyed by customs. The shipping cost is not refunded in these cases. The price of the goods is refunded once the parcel is actually back with us, less the return shipping cost. If the parcel is destroyed or seized by customs, no refund is possible.
5. Receiving the parcel
Inspect the box on delivery. If it is damaged, wet or opened, open it in the presence of the postal worker and have the damage recorded, or refuse the parcel; it will come back to us. Keep the box and inner packaging until you have checked the contents. The claims procedure is described in Returns & Claims.
6. Address changes and redirection
Once the parcel has been handed to the carrier the address cannot be changed and the parcel cannot be redirected. Check your address in your account before paying.
Duties and taxes on delivery: thresholds by country
What the recipient usually pays in the countries we ship to most often. For countries not in the table the general rule from section 3 applies: duties and taxes, where they exist, are paid by the recipient.
| Country | Threshold | What the recipient pays |
|---|---|---|
| European Union (27 countries) | VAT on any value, duty from €150 | The recipient pays the destination country's VAT, duty from €150 and the postal clearance fee on delivery. Since July 2026 Japan Post does not accept parcels with goods under €150 to Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Portugal, so the minimum for them is ¥30,000 in products. |
| United Kingdom | VAT 20% on any value, duty from £135; minimum order ¥30,000 in products (above £135) | VAT, duty and the Royal Mail handling fee are paid by the recipient on delivery |
| United States | No threshold: since 29 August 2025 duty applies to every parcel | Duty of 12.5% and the clearance fee are calculated at checkout and included in your payment (DDP); nothing to pay on delivery |
| Canada | CAD 20 | Above that: duty, GST or HST and a CAD 9.95 Canada Post handling fee on delivery |
| Australia | AUD 1,000 | Nothing to pay on delivery below the threshold; above it: duty, 10% GST and a clearance fee |
| New Zealand | NZD 1,000 | Nothing to pay on delivery below the threshold; above it: duty, 15% GST and a clearance fee |
| Switzerland | VAT 8.1%; not charged if the tax comes to less than CHF 5 (about CHF 62 of goods with shipping) | VAT and the postal clearance fee are paid by the recipient on delivery |
| Norway | VAT 25% on any value | VAT and the postal clearance fee are paid by the recipient on delivery |
| Kazakhstan | €200 and 31 kg per parcel | Above that, from 1 July 2026: 5% duty on the full value (at least €1 per kg) plus 16% VAT |
| Kyrgyzstan | €200 and 31 kg per parcel | Above that, from 1 July 2026: 5% duty on the full value (at least €1 per kg) plus national VAT |
| Uzbekistan | USD 100 for postal items | Above that: a single customs payment on the excess |
| Ukraine | €150 | Above that: 10% duty on the excess and 20% VAT |
| Israel | USD 75 | From USD 75 to 500: 18% VAT; above USD 500 duty as well |
| United Arab Emirates | AED 1,000 | Above that: 5% duty and 5% VAT |
| Vietnam | No threshold: since 18 February 2025 VAT and duty apply to any value | VAT at the rate for the goods, duty and the clearance fee are paid by the recipient on delivery |
| Philippines | PHP 10,000 per consignment | Nothing to pay on delivery below the threshold; above it: duty, 12% VAT and clearance fees are paid by the recipient on delivery. Parcels to the same recipient arriving on the same day are added together |
| Singapore | SGD 400 | Nothing to pay on delivery below the threshold; above it: 9% GST |
| Taiwan | TWD 2,000 (no more than 6 times per half-year per recipient) | Above that: duty and 5% tax. Supplements have a quantity limit, which the cart checks |
| Hong Kong | No duty or VAT | Nothing |
| South Korea | USD 150 | Above that: duty and 10% VAT |
Indicative, checked on 15 September 2026 against official sources and carrier tables. The threshold applies to the value of the goods, in most countries together with shipping. The final amount is set by customs in the destination country; these charges are not included in the price and are not refunded.
